Why Delete Em?

Yesterday as I was logging off, I saw that someone had a post asking why people delete people with no warning.

I can't remember who it was and I don't think I'd want to take up all their space anyway ('sides, it's high time I actually wrote another post).

I have deleted probably a dozen folks since I first got on Ply.  I have 5 people blocked as we speak.

The number one reason that I'll delete someone is inactivity on their part.  I'm not talking about a week or two, I'm talking months.  If it's been 2 or more months since you've posted something or logged in, what's the point?

If the stuff you talk about is stupid as hell, you're likely to get deleted.

If you resort to calling people names on my posts, your comment will definitely get deleted and depending on how ignorant things get, you may just get blocked (#1 block).

If you creep me out regularly, you'll likely get deleted.

If I feel that you're connected with me to check up on someone else, you'll get blocked.

If you appear to be a fake page, you'll get blocked.

You don't have to agree with my beliefs, but if you ridicule me because of what I believe in, you can kiss it.

If you ridicule others because they don't believe what you believe, you're useless to me.  I try to learn from others, but I don't have to listen to you rant because "folks don't wanna play with the toys" the way you say they should.

If you continuously send out mass pm's and I have to keep hitting the x because I'm not interested, you'll eventually get axed.

If you are negative ALL the damn time and you're robbing me of my positivity each time I visit your spot?  See ya!!

It's not complicated.  It's mostly common sense.  If you were the one who asked the question or if you know who it was, let me know please.

  1. WHY DO people do this???? they can post a blog for specific users, which is essentially the same damn thing... I mean if you've got 50 people in a message it's not a message, it's a damn BLOG ENTRY!

  2. that chaps my hide to and I wonder the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  3. can we just make this a 'ply proclamation?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Well I think you about covered them all.

    ReplyDelete
  5. yesssssss, my hide gets chapped on occasion. lmao

  6. OKAY! Say that girl! lol
I too have blocked folks for being rude and such. I also delete folks who are just on my page, never respond back when I write, over do it with the mass e-mails, and a few other reasons that merit me not wanting to be bothered with them. I know that I don't write much anymore, but those who "know" me know that my health isn't what it should be these days... but i do try to say hello, answer comments/emails, and comment on the occasional post. Ya feel me? lol
That's just reality. Some folks are cool, some folks need to go away, for real though! Lmao

  7. Dang..I've committed more than half of these violations and you havent deleted me yet... I must have fallen under the radar....lmaooooooo

  8. Nothing else to add you said it all. I also get rid of folks of their blogs don't keep me interested. Right now I don't get to go to all my friends pages work is busy, but if I had a PC at home I would go to everyone's page. Well not daily, but I would eventually get to everyone by the end of the week. LOL

  9. why ask why? jeesh....people don't have to send out deletion alerts....lol.

i can't STAND those PMs. if you not talking JUST to me, don't bother sending that shit. i can't stand it. i deleted someone JUST for doing that plus they never interacted with me and i didn't even know em...

i don't understand people sending those CHAIN e-mails in those PMs....WTF? i mean if it was so meaningful, put it in a blog and let people get around to reading it, otherwise, delete it and stop doing the ridiculous PMs...i don't get that at all.

  10. Yeah, I think some people be posting PMs all willy nilly at times. You might as well post a blog. And I also delete people who I don't associate with. I've only had to block someone once. He was very disrespectful. I don't like when people post mess in my guestbook, especially without my permission. I respect your beliefs. I expect others to do the same.

  11. Oooooh I forgot that one! Idiot posted a 5-6 paragraph posting. That coming from a friend is one thing, but if I don't know you from Adam? Heck no! And if I delete your post, you bet not come back and post it again!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Deletion alerts makes my butt itch! Makes the person out to be an Attention Whore.

Just delete me and be done with it.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mike, I will be deleting you at 1400 hours Pacific Time...

  14. *printing out*

Oh...and I'm only your friend to check up on Red bka Panky and see what Rob is up to.

  16. I think the real question is once someone is deleted why do people make a huge deal out of it? Why does it become a federal case? I honestly feel some folks collect friends the way they do comic books. Hell I go on my list and have to figure out who some folks are and why I allowed them on my page to begin with!!! Everyone else? I have so many of you on filters it makes it easy for me to remember.

Others because I've known you since 360 no question why you are on my list!!

I'm sure people removed me from their list and it does not bother me at all.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I can't honestly say this.

If I'm to be deleted, fine. That's your right. However, being deleted because I didn't comment on your blog is total B.S.

    ReplyDelete
  18. TOTALLY the same.. I have to really hunt for it.. to figure out who it is... then I say.. OHHHHHHH.. them... *Pfft* cause it doesn't matter one bit.. The one that tickles me though is the people that delete you and then still come to your page to see what you are talking about..WHY? What you want? Sheesh... Did I become MORE interesting BECAUSE you deleted me.. then you should have just left well enough alone.. Why go around the world to go down the street? People make me tired watching them run in circles...I clare for Gawd they do.. LMAOOO

    ReplyDelete
  19. Girl!! You would think folks were getting paid

    ReplyDelete
  20. Mike here is why I say it does not bother me. People who truly know me, and we have more than simply a "cybership" of sorts I don't see them deleting me. Now the folks that do? I probably hardly make it on their page so it simply does not matter to me.

But there are folks on here I talk to offline, I've met, we have phone conversations, email each other, text each other. That's what I mean.

Plus the people who delete me for not answering their blogs, when do they come to mine? Man bye!!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  21. They sure act that way don't they. "OMG I have to meet my quota!!!!"

    ReplyDelete
  22. What I can't stand is the "I'm leaving" speeches which clearly are designed as an attention ploy for folks to flock you to stay.

Look... just leave and get gone. No need for an annoucement. Tell the important folks in a pm or email. The rest of the nobodys will soon figure out you left the network.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Exactly!!! If you leaving be gone!!! Bye, see ya, adios!!! To me it is some ploy because when they announce "I'm leaving" they get the awwwwww don't goooooooooooo!!!

    Pffftttt

    ReplyDelete
  24. You hit the nail on the head right there!!!!! That silly practice was abundant during my Yahoo 360 days. It was that reason why I was very leery of reconnecting with those same folks over here on Multiply

    ReplyDelete
  25. We call it E- Suicide... with a touch of HEY POO....

They want someone to pay attention to them and say.. OH PLEASEEE don't go.. we love you... Won't you stay? Our lives are just so empty without you..

    **QQ"N*

If you were all that important... We will come looking for YOU..

    ReplyDelete
  26. I mean it's just silly all around.

    ReplyDelete
  27. SAY IT! * pointing my church finga*

    ReplyDelete
  28. this is a bunch of grown folks behaving this way that makes it even more pathetic!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Last week sometime, I saw someone on the network (not on my friends list) announce their departure, and not ten seconds had passed for them to say, well, I decided to stay......WTF

I'm like what kind of attention ho is this? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  30. Works for me.

(just so you know though, I have stalker tendencies in the event you try to delete or block me)

    ReplyDelete
  31. This has inspired a clean up....*going to contacts*

    ReplyDelete
  32. See as much as I miss seeing my homie JT on Multiply he did it right. He just bounced!!! No announcement, he just left quietly.

But others announce it to see who will beg them to stay.

I proclaim next time someone says they are leaving don't say NOTHING!!! Just let them go!!! ROFL!! Don't even say Bye, just let them go.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I know kids in daycare that don't have these types of issues.. LMAOOO

    ReplyDelete
  34. When I "take a break", I just do that...TAKE A BREAK! No fanfare or pomp and circumstances...I just back away from the PC and go on bout my business.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No, the post that got me was the one on the Ply calendar that said on such and such day they were going to start deleting folks. Like there was a ransom involved or something! Pfft!

    ReplyDelete
  36. (you'd be hard pressed to stalk the stalker lady! I saw you in Vegas! You didn't know that, did you? *insert evil laugh here*)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I saw that and that was quite pathetic.

I started to say something to that individual, but they probably would have invited me so they can turn around and delete me!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I saw that.. LMAOOOO and then HE ( was yours a HE cause there were 2) sent me a invite..Awwwwww NO Thanks.. My doctor put me on the Lame ass Internet Kids pill .. cause dumb S**T makes me Itch...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sent me one too...I said heyell naw. (that should be an option...accept, decline, heyell naw)

So he can have a DELETE KWEEN KIWI'S ASS day?uh...NO

    ReplyDelete
  40. Lonely Muthafuckas, that's why. The net is their LIFE!!! To tell you the truth, I've gotten deleted so many times that I don't even NOTICE folks delete me until somebody ELSE tells me. Shows how much I pay attention. *Shrugging shoulder*

    Oh, well.

  43. I read this as I was answering the phone and I just had to stop everything so I wouldn't bust out laughing! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  44. Mike...come be my friend so I can delete you at 1700 hrs...lol j/k

    ReplyDelete
  45. now why would someone need to even say anything? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  46. They usually just ask "Why did such-and-such delete you?" and I didn't even know it happened. I didn't know somebody deleted me for a MONTH until somebody told me once. It was like they were never there anyway because I hadn't heard from them since they sent ME an invite.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You know why, Ebby. They wanna know if you got mad and started talking about THEM!!!

Even if THEY don't come back, they'll send somebody else...like you dont know what the hells goin' on.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I just want to know why you have to warn someone before deleting him/her? This isn't a job. This isn't a family ex-communication. WTF?

I just hate when people block me because they didn't like what I had to say, simply because it was in opposition to their opinion. That's gay.

    ReplyDelete
  49. That's sure what I did when me and Mike got into it! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  50. The opposite happened to me. I deleted someone once and apparently they didn't notice until at least a month later when they asked me why I did so!

    That's your answer (hee hee)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Somebody sho coulda picked a better disguise

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yeah..You just a place holder. What's the point of keeping you?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I've deleted only one person since I've been on PLY. I have blocked one person cause I seriously can't stand her fake ass and I am not going to fake the funk for no one. And recently I was deleted by someone, for what reason hmm lol I think I got that figured out but hey it's that person's loss. I'm a damn good person and friend. jealousy is a bitch.

I post about the things I like or don't like. I have no time to site here and go on anyone's page to check up on anyone else. I don't like DRAMA I swear I am allergic to it literally.
\Lawd I can't stand Mass PM'ers just to say some simple shit. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Definition of PM (Personal Message) A message that is sent to another person that you do not want every one to see. Hence the term Personal Message.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Yet some pseudo-intellectuals in here do this all the time...

    ReplyDelete
  55. I remember that mess. like, um...why are you announcing that shit?? Are you supposed to beg and plead to make sure you're not one of the ones to be axed?
*still scratchin my head on that one.

    ReplyDelete
  56. My name is Rob and I approve this message.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Is THAT what happened to it? *running to Dee's bedroom*

    ReplyDelete
  58. In my opinion people send out mass messages because they know they will be received unlike posts because they get covered up by posts on top of posts and no one will see them at all, but some people run them into the ground and it does get on your nerves...

I have deleted people because i never hear from them and I have been deleted for unknown reasons, prolly because i dont i have any good topics but i dont give a shit, this is my story and if someone does not find it interesting they can go away.

    ReplyDelete
  59. You're on shaky ground Mister *shaking my fist @ you*
